Legends & Lies
Saloon Tour
A fascinating glimpse of a bygone era when a rough and ready crowd roamed the streets of Skagway, and Paradise Alley was anything but the highway to heaven implied by its name. This highly entertaining tour makes you feel like you've stepped back in time as characters from the Gold Rush past give a colorful rendition of the times with songs and stories of the era.
The alley between 6th & 7th was the Red Light district of Skagway during the Klondike Gold Rush. This location of today’s Alaska House restaurant & Historic Skagway Inn sets the stage for the saloon experience. It’s also where prospector JD Stewart was robbed of his gold takings (today's equivalent of $77,000) -- a lesson for braggarts everywhere. As you sample the beverages and dine, finish with a challenge…can you become a true Sourdough? Can you pass the ice-worm cocktail test?
